Unlike standard compression springs, these units feature an internal valve mechanism operated by a release button or lever system.
When the release pin is pushed, the valve opens, allowing the gas spring to extend or compress like a standard spring. When the button is released, the valve closes, locking the spring firmly in place. This makes them ideal for applications requiring height adjustment, angle inclination, and ergonomic positioning.
